East Ham residents celebrate arrival of summer

East Ham has already enjoyed some glorious sunny weather this year, and residents have been flocking in record numbers to East Ham’s parks, including Central Park, Plashet Park, and the car park behind the Denmark Arms.

To celebrate the arrival of the bank holiday weekend, we asked you to send us your photos showing this year’s Great British summer in East Ham.

This one from Gareth – a keen amateur photographer – shows a group of revelers relaxing in Central Park. “In photography, patience is everything. But it was a little chilly this day, so I didn’t have to wait long before capturing the moment this guy put his hand in his buttock crack to keep it warm” says Gareth.

Jemima captured this dramatic moment when a tree interrupted the sky:

One joker, Baz, sent this picture in, which we don’t think  was taken this year. Baz, you are the living end!

And Sandra snapped this squirrel, which had been nailed to a tree as part of Newham’s new pest control strategy.

So whatever you’re doing in East Ham this bank holiday weekend, have fun and stay safe.
